(OCT. 15, WAVERLY, ALA.) – It’s fall y’all, and that means the Old 280 Waverly Boogie is back. On Saturday, Oct. 15, Standard Deluxe is hosting a weekend full of art, Southern food, and live music.

This is the 5th Fall Boogie, with yet again a great line-up, featuring singer-songwriter, Kelsey Waldon. This isn’t her first boogie though, and she is excited to return with her newest album, “I’ve Got A Way.”

From the small town of Monkey’s Eyebrow, Ky., Waldon’s humble upbringing transcends through her music. Her dark, country style combined with steel guitar and bluegrass flare makes her a standout as a singer-songwriter.

Her sophomore album is one of confidence and courage reflected in songs “All By Myself” and “You Can Have It” as well as empowering break-up songs like “The Heartbreak.”

Waldon’s personal experiences and raw emotion in her music allow her to connect with her audience on a deeper level.

“I really wanted it to be an encouraging record. I use what inspires and moves me at the time,” Waldon said, “I think we are all in this thing together.”

It really is all about the music for Waldon, and her ability to reach out to others is her motivation as an artist. The most important part of being a musician to her is performing.

“Being able to get your sweat on and putting in the elbow grease is the most important part,” she said.

Off her latest album, song, “All By Myself,” allows fans to see a deeper side of Waldon.  The video was filmed in her hometown.

“It was a personal mission for me, I wanted to showcase the environment that has been so powerful for me, and a region of the world that doesn’t get shined down on a lot,” Waldon said of her hometown.

Waldon and her band are excited to come back down to Waverly this year, for some good music and good food.

“All the bands seem awesome this year,” she said. “The people of Waverly definitely knows how to boogie, we can’t wait.”
